• Tickets: Unneeded. Optional visits at your leasure time. We recommend you, the house museum of Cristopher Columbus.
• Dresscode: Suitable clothing and footwear according to season. In winter a sweater or light jacket is recommended.

Don’t pay more, three products for the price of one! Once in Las Palmas, we start our walking tour in the historic centre of Vegueta, where you can discover a colonial style layout, with numerous narrow winding streets and alleys.

 In the Santa Ana square, a meeting place for parties and concerts, you can see the famous Santa Ana dogs, eight sculptures made of cast iron, but painted green to make them look like bronze, representing dogs that are located at one end of the square, facing the façade of the cathedral. From this same square you can see the cathedral, the town hall, the Episcopal palace and some modernist-style houses. 

The guided tour continues and one of the most emblematic buildings of the city, the Columbus House Museum, stands majestically in front of you. This museum was inaugurated in 1951 and we recommend you to visit it during your free time. Christopher Columbus visited it already in 1492 during his first voyage to the Indies.

You can also choose to visit the local market, see the beautiful façade of the Pérez Galdós Theatre and/or have a coffee in the famous pedestrian street Triana.

We then drive up the northern road to the most famous caldera of Gran Canaria, the Caldera de Bandama, a volcanic crater of 1.000 metres in diameter and about 200 metres deep, which originated more than 3.000 years ago and was once inhabited by a family. At the bottom of this impressive caldera you can see some crops and a small house where Agustín’s family lived.

The largest Botanical Garden in Spain (about 23 hectares) opens its doors to us, better known as the Jardin de Viera y Clavijo, this majestic garden hides a collection of more than 570 plants endemic to the Macaronesian area and that you can only see in the Canary Islands. Enjoy this beautiful visit and contemplate our: Dragos, palm trees, laurisilva among many other native plants and trees and without forgetting one of the most complete and largest gardens of succulent plants (cactus, euphorbias, aloes, Agaves ….) in Europe.

On the way back to civilisation you will enjoy a panoramic view of the Avenida Maritima with breathtaking views of the city, its marina and the third most important harbour of the Atlantic: El Puerto de La Luz.

Our guided tour of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria arrives at one of the busiest places in the capital: the Alfredo Krauss Auditorium. It is also one of the island’s shopping areas par excellence, with a multitude of places to do your shopping in Gran Canaria, and it is here that you will find the lungs of the capital of Gran Canaria, Las Canteras beach, which for many is the best urban beach in the world.
